"Island"

Seddie Cogswell, a self-described “student of light,” has been photographing northwoods scenes and wildlife for twenty years. He moved from San Francisco to northern Wisconsin seeking solitude and silence, moods that he attempts to capture in his photographs.

“Photography,” he says, “gives me the opportunity to express my inner feelings. I do most of my work in the early morning and afternoon when the light is soft and evokes feelings of stillness and quiet.”
