Way back in 1980, Brian and Mary Dosch discovered an abandoned brick schoolhouse, and much to the chagrin of their families, they bought the building and moved in. The dream was a place to live, raise a family, grow a garden and sell their artwork. And that’s what happened as Brickyard Pottery came to life as the first art gallery in the area.
After forty years of producing and selling their own artwork as well as promoting and selling that of dozens of other area artists, Mary and Brian were ready to embark on a well deserved retirement.
In the fall of 2019, Minneapolis based potter / painter Virginia Streitz, along with musician husband Jason and two daughters were passed the baton and took over the reigns. Jason and Virginia instantly fell in love with the undeniable charm of the Brickyard and the surrounding community. With the guidance of Brian and Mary, the Streitz’ are eager to continue the Brickyard line, introduce Virginia’s original works, as well as bring live music to the Brickyard.
